This amazingly versatile seat is the only car seat a child needs from birth (until they're ready for a booster seat), and keeps them rear facing to 18kg. The supply chain for this product has unfortunately broken down and we are not expecting stock for this year.

The Cosco Scenera NEXT is designed with Side Impact Protection built into the headrest, and a five-point harness that adjusts easily from the front of the seat. The harness is adjustable to five different heights and the crotch strap/buckle can also be adjusted to three different lengths to adapt to your growing child.
Flying with the Cosco Scenera NEXT is a breeze - certified for use on an aircraft, it gives your child a familiar seat during the flight. The lightweight (only 3kg!) design also gets you in and out of the airport without getting weighed down.
We're no stranger to how children can be in the car (been there, done that). Thankfully, the car seat pad removes easily, and is both machine washable and dryer safe. Even the cup holder is dishwasher safe! The Cosco Scenera NEXT handles all the stress so you don't have to.
Note: When using the Cosco Scenera NEXT outside the USA, you must use a seat belt locking clip (our taxi-friendly locking clip is the easiest). The US has different seat belts from the rest of the world and their seat belts have a second mode called 'child restraint mode' which firmly locks the seat belt in place. US car seats, like this Cosco Scenera NEXT, are designed to be used with a locked US seat belt, so when used with a European seat belt, such as in Singapore, a locking clip is mandatory. All Cosco car seats sold by Taxi Baby include a locking clip for free.

Will it fit your child? The Cosco Scenera NEXT can be used rear facing for children weighing 2.3-18kg, with a seated height of less than 61cm. The Cosco Scenera NEXT can be used for almost a year longer in the rear facing position than if you turn your child forward facing. We recommend your child rides in a rear facing car seat for as long as possible.
To measure your child's seated height, have them sit (without slouching) on the floor against a wall, then measure from the floor to the top of their head.
Why is the seated height important? When a child is using a rear facing car seat, their head must not protrude from the top of the seat. If it does, in an accident, as the child's body moves diagonally upward with the force of the collision, their head may no longer be supported by the shell of the car seat, with serious consequences.
The Cosco Scenera NEXT can be used forward facing for children aged over 2 years who weigh 10-18kg and have a seated shoulder height less than 35cm.
To measure your child's seated shoulder height, have them sit (without slouching) on the floor against a wall, then measure from the floor to the top of their shoulder.
Why is the seated shoulder height important? When a child is using a forward facing car seat, the shoulder straps must come from a position that is either at or above the child's shoulders. If the shoulder straps are coming from a position that's lower than the child's shoulders, in an accident, the child's spine can be forced to bend too much, with serious consequences.
Will it fit your car? The Cosco Scenera NEXT can be installed rear facing with either a 3-point seat belt, a lap-only belt, or the included LATCH belt if your vehicle is equipped with ISOfix.
To install the Cosco Scenera NEXT forward facing, it is mandatory to use the top tether attached to the vehicle's top tether anchor (not all cars have this in all seating positions), in addition to either a 3-point seat belt, a lap-only belt, or the included LATCH belt. If your vehicle (or that seating position inside your vehicle), then you cannot use the Cosco forward facing - only rear facing.
If your vehicle has 'normal' seat belts (called an 'ELR retractor'), then you will either need to use a locking clip (which we provide) with the seat belt, or install the Cosco using ISOfix. If your vehicle has North American seat belts (called a 'switchable retractor' which can toggle between ERL mode and ALR mode)
The widest part of the Urban Kanga is the top edge - sort of the place you'd expect your child to rest their arms if there were armrests there. It's 44cm. The underside of the Cosco is actually quite narrow at just 26.5cm. Parents often choose to use two or three Cosco Scenera NEXTs beside each other in order to fit three passengers in one row. Alternatively, if you have another car seat where the widest part of it is very low down, close to the vehicle seat upholstery, you may find it can 'puzzle' beside a Cosco Scenera NEXT well.
Here's our video showing how to set up your Cosco Scenera NEXT straight out of the box (it's a long video, but there are chapter headings so you can fast forward to the section you need).
For your convenience, here are the timestamps for each component:
This video is from the manufacturer of our taxi-friendly locking clip - they generically show how to install the handy little red clip on any car seat.
The following video shows how to install the Cosco Scenera NEXT in a taxi OUTSIDE THE US. US vehicles have different seat belts from the rest of the world and if you're using the Cosco with a non-US seat belt, you absolutely need to use a locking clip.
There may be situations where you want to use the ISOfix (LATCH) belt to install your seat instead of using the seat belt/locking clip combo. The following video from Cosco shows how.
The Cosco Scenera NEXT is compatible with strollers which feature a frame-style or strap-style universal car seat adapter. Examples include:
• Mountain Buggy Nano (eg. strap-style adapter)
• Baby Trend Snap-N-Go (eg. frame-style adapter)
UPPAbaby, Baby Jogger and Mountain Buggy make adapters for their strollers which are compatible with the Cosco Scenera NEXT. Many parents also choose to securely 'hack' their Cosco onto their stroller(we have a photo collection of our customers' hacks here!), either by nestling the car seat into the frame of the stroller (great for strollers with belly bars or rear facing stroller seats), or by securing the Cosco with a luggage strap. Also, since the Cosco is ultralight (only 3kg), it's really easy to use with a shoulder strap.
Is it possible to install the Cosco Scenera NEXT forward facing?
It is possible to install the Scenera NEXT forward facing, but we don't recommend it because -
It's five times less safe for your child: rear facing seats have been shown to be 532% safer than their forward facing counterparts. Common misconceptions about rear facing travel include:
• It's dangerous/uncomfortable for my child's legs. Actually, the opposite is true - forward facing children are at greater risk of broken legs, plus you'll be surprised at how comfortable than can get. Sitting cross-legged or with their legs up on the back of the seat is completely safe.
• My child can't see out the window. In most vehicles, the opposite is true - forward facing children get a great view of the back of the passenger's seat, while rear facing children can look out the rear and side windows, unobstructed.
• My child is happier when they can see me. This is not really a misconception - most kids are happier when they can see their parents, but, in our humble opinion, this isn't a good enough reason to turn them forward facing. Instead, install a car-safe baby mirror so bub can keep an eye on you while you're keeping an eye on the road.
It's more difficult to install: the forward facing installation requires a tether strap be properly installed, to keep the seat from moving too far forward in an accident. This is an extra step compared to the rear facing installation.
You need to book a special taxi: Two-thirds of Singapore's taxi fleet have tether anchors to allow you to install your tether strap, so you will probably need to book ahead and make sure the responding vehicle has a tether anchor.
Is there any infant insert for a newborn to take the car seat?
No but you can roll a muslin blanket and put it beside them once they’re buckled, like this:
Here's Jack in the Cosco when he was just three days old, at 2.9 kilos!
Can I use the Cosco Scenera NEXT on a plane?
The Cosco Scenera NEXT is FAA-approved and a wonderfully versatile, narrow, simple seat to travel with, both in and out of the plane. Each airline has their own very specific policy when it comes to using car seats onboard and even though the Cosco is airline approved, they may not allow it. Also, some airline staff/crew may not be completely familiar with their own policy so it pays to be prepared.
Here are some tips to a smoother trip when flying with your Cosco:
1. Check your airline's car seat policy online before booking tickets and/or buying the car seat. 2. Print or save a screenshot of the relevant policy to show the cabin crew. 3. Email the airline's customer service to confirm you can use the Cosco onboard your flight, then print their confirmation email to show the cabin crew. 4. Familiarise yourself with how to install the car seat on a plane.

International Shipping
We ship around the world with DHL Express and Registered Mail. In our experience, DHL Express is an incredibly reliable service provider and shipments are handled by DHL Express personnel from beginning to end. Of all the couriers that we have access to in Singapore, DHL is the fastest shipping option humanly possible. We have found that local in-country postal services (Registered Mail) can be less reliable than DHL Express and delays should be expected.
How much will it cost? When you reach the checkout page of our website, prices for your selected country will be shown. If you aren't seeing a DHL Express option, please double check your post code and address.
How long will it take? DHL Express transit times are typically 1-4 business days globally, from dispatch date and we aim to dispatch all orders within 1 business day. Registered Mail transit times are shown at check out, but based on our experience, please expect delays.
Please notethat estimated transit times are based on efficient processing at local customs checkpoints. Any delays at customs is solely accountable to the local customs operations and it completely beyond the control of DHL, the postal service provider and Plane Pal Asia.
Will I have to pay import taxes and/or duties upon delivery?
For orders sent by Registered Mail, the shipping cost generally includes prepaid taxes and duties so there should be no additional payment required upon delivery. Please notethat each country's local postal service handles import taxes and duties differently and you may be requested to pay additional fees and charges. If you do, please let us know so that we can update this page for the benefit of other customers.
For orders sent by DHL Express, the shipping cost excludes taxes and duties applicable in the destination country and these will be charged to you, by DHL, upon delivery. Please note that import taxes and duties are the sole responsibility of your country's customs department and we have absolutely no control over the amount nor payment methods applied.
